“The purpose of the corduroy surface is to warn visually impaired people of the presence of specific hazards; steps, level crossings or the approach to on street light rapid transport (LTR) platforms. It is also used where a footway joins a shared route, it conveys the message ‘Hazard proceed with caution’.”
Department for Transport (DFT) Document 1998
The hazard warning profile has been designed to comply fully with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2004 and offers the following benefits:
- Using the specially formulated two part adhesive enable the tile to adhere to virtually any surface, ie Concrete, Teratzo, Marble and Ceramic.
- No excavation is required, particularly crucial at sites where DDA compliance is an issue.
- Quick and clean installation means that projects can be carried out with the minimum of disruption in a cost effective manner.
- Skid Resistance Value (SRV) tested and found to out perform anti skid surfaces (details available on request).
